Program Outcomes

 1. Possesses theoretical and practical knowledge in all fields of Art History.

 2. Examines material cultural objects with artistic value according to geographical region, country, communities, and period by using research methods and techniques of Art History, and evaluates them through discipline-specific approaches.

 3. Systematically documents, interprets, and analyzes works of art; establishes connections between ancient and modern cultures through comparison; and is able to express the knowledge acquired in the field of Art History both orally and in writing.

 4. Has the competence and equipment to conduct research and investigations through archives, libraries, the internet, and similar sources.

 5. Has a command of national and international legislation related to Art History, develops strategies, policies, and implementation plans in line with such legislation, and evaluates the outcomes obtained.

 6. Possesses the ability to make use of auxiliary disciplines (such as history, geography, archaeology, literature, mythology, anthropology, museology, philosophy, and sociology) in the study of Art History.

 7. Has the competence to carry out work in the field aimed at protecting historical and cultural heritage and the environment.

 8. Develops and enhances sensitivity to ethical values regarding the preservation and safeguarding of cultural heritage, and contributes to raising public awareness of the protection of the historical environment.

 9. Possesses technical knowledge and skills related to technical drawing, restoration, survey (rölöve), excavation techniques, photography, and computer use.

 10. Gains the ability to write scientific reports in the field.

 11. Reads inscriptions, endowment deeds, coins, and archival documents in different languages found on cultural assets, seeking assistance from other disciplines when necessary.

12. Can convey, both orally and in writing in a foreign language, the knowledge and achievements acquired in and outside courses related to Art History.

13. Has the ability to adapt to and work in all types of field studies, to use the necessary technical equipment, and to act with professional ethics and a sense of responsibility.

14. In addition to being familiar with fundamental publications in the field of Art History, has the ability to follow and analyze current publications.

15. Monitors developments in the field of Art History in connection with lifelong learning and continuously engages in self-renewal.
