Erasmus Exchange Program

Under the Erasmus Student Exchange Program, agreements are made with universities in different countries to enable our students to study abroad for one or two semesters. Similarly, students from abroad are accepted under the Erasmus program. Within this scope, Hatice Simay Yeğen, one of our department students, was sent to the University of Bialystok Faculty of History and International Relations in Poland as an undergraduate student for the 2021-2022 academic year. Within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ Student Exchange Program, our department has bilateral agreements with the following countries among the current 30 countries:

Farabi Exchange Program

TOGÜ History Department has been conducting mutual student exchanges with most of the state universities in our country for many years. The History Department supports this exchange in order for students to gain experience, receive education in a different environment, and benefit from the experiences of different faculty members.

Information About Farabi Student Exchange

  • The student exchange period covers a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters.
  • Higher education institutions grant full recognition for the academic activities completed at the host institution.
  • Students may participate in the Farabi Exchange Program once at each level of education. However, a student may only be a scholarship recipient under the Farabi Exchange Program once during their academic career and for one semester.
  • Students eligible for the Farabi Exchange Program with a scholarship receive a monthly scholarship amount equal to one and a half times the monthly scholarship amount paid to undergraduate students under the Law No. 5102 on Scholarships and Loans for Higher Education Students.
  • Seventy percent of the scholarship is paid to the student during their studies, and the remaining thirty percent is paid based on the student's participation certificate and academic performance.

How to Apply for the Farabi Program?


1. Application Requirements

  • Students enrolled in preparatory and first year of associate and bachelor's degree programs, as well as students enrolled in master's and doctoral programs, are not eligible for this program during their preparatory and scientific preparation periods and the first semester of their main education.
  • The student must be enrolled in an associate degree, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program at an institution of higher education that offers formal education.
  • The general academic grade point average (GPA) must be 2.00/4.00 or 53.33/100 for associate degree and undergraduate students.
  • For master's or doctoral students, the GPA must be 2.5/4.00 or 65/100.
  • The foreign language requirement will apply if the program you are enrolled in is taught in a foreign language.
  • Students applying for the Farabi Program must apply by considering the quotas of the Bilateral Protocols valid for the academic year they are applying for.

Mevlana Exchange Program

The History Department has been using the Mevlana Student Exchange Program since 2014. Our students have not benefited from this exchange during the application years. In the previous period, our student Ozan Köklünar went to Kazakhstan and benefited from the exchange.

Mevlana Exchange Program Information About Student Exchange

Within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program, associate degree, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students enrolled in formal education programs at all higher education institutions in Turkey (higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol) can participate in student exchange.

The basic requirements for becoming a Mevlana Exchange Program student can be summarized under several headings:

  • The student must be enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree program in a formal education program.
  • Associate's and bachelor's degree students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (two and a half) out of 4 (four).
  • Master's and doctoral students must have a minimum GPA of 3 (three) out of 4 (four),
  • 50% language score + 50% GPA Students enrolled in the preparatory and first year of associate degree and bachelor's degree programs, as well as master's and doctoral students in the preparatory and scientific preparation periods, are not eligible to participate in this program during their first semester of regular education.
